Screen Producers Australia appoints Chris Keely chief operating officer

Former Create NSW executive director Chris Keely will take over as chief operating officer of Screen Producers Australia (SPA), replacing Sarah Melrose, who is set to depart the organisation after 18 months.
Keely brings executive experience across media, telecommunications, law and government, with leadership roles spanning Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Before that, Keely spent nearly eight years at SBS, serving as general manager of Subscription TV, SBS Food, SBS World Movies, subscription TV, and movies vertical.
SPA chief executive Matthew Deaner welcomed Keely to the executive team.
“As chief operating officer, Chris will help ensure SPA continues to evolve as a strong, member-focused organisation, delivering excellent services while supporting the long-term success of Australia’s independent screen production sector.
