An ‘Ultimate’ SurpriseIn early 1995, WCW began airing vignettes featuring Hogan teasing an “ultimate surprise” that would bring “ultimate power” to his side. Fans immediately assumed that the real Ultimate Warrior was making his debut in WCW. WCW doubled down by bringing the Ultimate Warrior into the company, making Renegade entirely irrelevant. I didn’t know virtually anything about Rick Wilson before watching it and it’s nice to see a guy who was genuinely excited to entertain finally get his due.
