Harlem Week events bring music, stars and neighborhood pride to the iconic celebration this month

Two of the biggest events of Harlem Week 2026 are A Great Day in Harlem and Harlem Day, both scheduled during the 16-day celebration of the world-famous Manhattan neighborhood.
Chew, who was born, raised, and went to school in Harlem, told amNewYork it is always an honor to perform during Harlem Week.
Harlem Day, known as “the day that started it all,” launched Harlem Week as a single-day event in 1974.
Organizers said Harlem Day is the largest event of the entire Harlem Week, bringing together music, food, merchandise vendors and plenty of entertainment.
“We’re proud to support the 52nd annual Harlem Week, which celebrates that legacy while creating opportunities for New Yorkers today,” the commissioner said.
