The Neighbor I Never Knew
['Rabbi Menachem Nissel']
Mishpacha Magazine
For almost 40 years, Rav Ron Moshe Chaya (pronounced “Shaya”) lived one flight up from our home in Har Nof.
We davened together every Motzaei Shabbos in our building’s lobby, our children and wives were good friends, and we loved each other’s company.
It’s not easy to say those words with full conviction, but for Rav Ron it was: He lived and breathed Mashiach.
Rav Yechezkel Abramsky once explained why after 120 are we asked tzipisa l’yeshuah and not simply kivisa l’yeshua.
We are expected to wait for the Geulah like those children in the airport, and Rav Ron did.
