The teenager, who cannot be named because he was 17 at the time of the offence, will now serve the original sentence handed down in 2024, according to the ABC. The teenager pleaded guilty to murder, armed burglary, and other offences and was sentenced to 14 years in detention in 2024. According to Queensland legislation, juveniles can typically be ordered to serve a maximum of 70 per cent of their custodial sentence, unless special circumstances warrant otherwise.
