Human remains of missing woman found near Melvin Hill Rd.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger identified the remains as Tamara Nichole Evans, 39, of Campobello. The remains were found in a wooded area near Wilson Drive off Melvin Hill Road, near Interstate 26, officials said. Evans was reported missing to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office on June 27. The coroner’s office said an anthropology examination will be conducted on Evans’ skeletal remains as part of the ongoing investigation. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office and the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the case.
