However, industry analysts say the timing of the exit raises broader questions about both the future of luxury hospitality in Victoria Falls and the company’s strategic decision-making.
Meikles and African Sun have jointly operated the Victoria Falls Hotel on a 50/50 basis since 1998.
The disposal will complete Meikles’ exit from Zimbabwe’s hotel industry following the sale of Meikles Hotel in Harare in 2019.
“In December 2025, the Meikles board concluded that the Victoria Falls Hotel should remain in the portfolio.
“Given this business’ history with governance, the issue becomes larger than the Victoria Falls Hotel.
