In a move designed to expand its presence in the wire and cable market, material supplier Hexpol AB has acquired Italy-based specialty compounder Vipa Group for 143.5 million euros. The acquisition includes the entire Vipa Group, consisting of the companies Vi.pa S.r.l. Founded in 1969, Vipa is being acquired from the Paolini family, which will support the transition for 18 months. Last year, Hexpol company announced an increased focus on thermoplastics as a key growth platform, he added.
