A Newry council official is to face an investigation into alleged misconduct on “scandalous” claims about a councillor amid a judicial review process. He added:”I’ve seen a lot of gaslighting going on here this evening, and it has very quickly come into play. He went on to slam an unidentified council official in chambers for allegedly making “scandalous” claims about him at the family wake. A Newry resident has now cleared the first stage of a high court challenge to the council’s controversial civic centre. “So, I wish to make a formal proposal that an investigation be launched into this matter through the appropriate avenue.”
