The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved ordinances Monday, Aug. 3 that will result in a seven-percent increase in water rates for the city’s customers. The cost increases were approved after a study recommended continued increases, according to city administrator Jeanette Dobson. 2 of Lafayette County were participants in the water study. The new water rates are expected to take effect August 20th in Higginsville. The Higginsville Board of Aldermen next meet Aug. 17.
