A three-vehicle collision east of Salisbury on Tuesday, Aug. 4 sent two women to a Columbia hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an 18-year-old from Salisbury was driving east on U.S. Route 24 about four miles east of Salisbury, when at around 5:15 p.m. her vehicle struck the back of a Jeep driven by another Salisbury woman. The crash sent the teenager’s vehicle across the center line into the path of a westbound van driven by a 55-year-old Moberly woman, resulting in a head-on collision. The teenager suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital, while the Moberly driven was flown to Columbia, also with serious injuries. Troopers added that the teenager was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collisions.
