Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has praised Nigerian troops serving under Operation ATILEYIN ALAFIA II (OPAA II) in the Republic of Benin for their professionalism and commitment, saying they have continued to make the nation proud through their exemplary conduct and unwavering commitment to regional peace. The Minister gave the commendation during a morale boosting visit to Camp Togbin in Cotonou, where he met with the deployed troops alongside senior Nigerian defence officials. Addressing the personnel, General Musa said their outstanding performance reflects the discipline, resilience and professionalism for which the Nigerian Armed Forces are widely respected. Reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to stronger defence ties with the neighbouring country, General Musa said both nations would continue working together to tackle criminal activities along their shared borders. According to him, sustained military cooperation is vital to improving border security and ensuring lasting peace and stability across the sub region.
