Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Wednesday inaugurated a Tuberculosis (TB) Awareness Workshop under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala, reaffirming the state’s commitment to eliminating tuberculosis through greater public awareness, early detection and community participation.
The programme brought together officials from the Health Department, medical professionals, representatives of various organisations and other stakeholders working in the field of public health.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu highlighted the importance of creating widespread awareness about tuberculosis, one of the country’s major public health challenges.
He urged citizens to actively support the government’s campaign by spreading awareness about TB prevention, symptoms and the availability of free diagnosis and treatment under the National TB Elimination Programme.
The TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a key national initiative focused on accelerating India’s efforts to eliminate tuberculosis through awareness, screening, treatment and public participation.
