A popular Elgin takeaway has issued a warning to fellow food businesses in the town after becoming the target of a recurring scam that it says is causing significant financial strain. “The first is where someone places what seems to be a genuine takeaway order over the phone and requests delivery. “Unfortunately, this has happened more than once and is becoming a real concern for takeaway businesses. “Our aim in sharing the post was simply to raise awareness so that other local food businesses can be vigilant and take steps to protect themselves." "Let’s look out for one another and stop these scams from continuing to affect local businesses," the restaurant added.
