A community figure has criticised the “disgusting” state of a bin area outside a block of flats, which has left nearby streets strewn with waste. Carolle Ralph, chairwoman of Lossiemouth Community Council, said members of the public had repeatedly complained about overflowing bins, mess and fly-tipping outside the Grampian Housing Association (GHA) building on St Margaret’s Crescent. The community council chairwoman argued that the “awful” smelling waste was an environmental health issue, and could encourage mice and rats into the area. In a statement, a GHA spokesperson said the organisation was working with tenants and Moray Council to find a way to improve the situation.
