Devon NHS issues important vaccination call to public
[]
Sidmouth Herald | News
The call comes as part of Immunisation Awareness Month, with the NHS in the South West reminding the public to ensure they are up to date with their routine immunisations to protect themselves, their families and the wider community.
"Immunisation Awareness Month is a helpful reminder to check whether you, your child, or someone you care for is up to date with their routine vaccinations."
Routine vaccines are available free of charge through the NHS and play a crucial role in controlling or eliminating diseases such as polio and diphtheria.
Dr Angel said the vaccines offered by the NHS are "rigorously tested for safety and effectiveness", and that serious side effects are rare.
She encouraged anyone with questions to speak with a healthcare professional, who can offer advice and address any concerns.
