And the “Bulverton Big Night Out” – a full evening’s entertainment with two bands, a ceilidh, a fireside music session and more from 7pm till 1am – is the best way to experience it. Sunday night (August 2) was no exception, with a warm buzz and a welcoming atmosphere as we entered Betsy’s Lounge. Quaffing some refreshing ale, we joined others for an instructive drop-in Colourchord Big Sing session, hosted by Bellowhead’s lead singer Jon Boden. Back in the main tent, the final part of the evening – the Bulverton’s Late Night Extra – was just beginning. All too soon it was over, ending a truly excellent Bulverton Big Night Out.
