The City of Windhoek (CoW) and the national government have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining free municipal services for the residents of Groot Aub as part of ongoing efforts to drive sustainable development in the settlement.
The City said the meeting focused on key development priorities that include land ownership, municipal services, housing, infrastructure and future spatial development.
“The pipeline replacement brings our total investment in Groot Aub’s water infrastructure to N$18.4 million, including N$11 million spend on pipeline materials alone.”
The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, emphasised to residents that development takes time and warned against the illegal sale of land.
Land allocation is regulated by law, and I urge residents to obtain lease agreements as the legal basis of occupying and developing their properties.”
