The weight limit for overhead bags will increase to 10 kilograms (22 pounds), while the previous 7-kilogram (15-pound) limit for underseat items will be removed. Industry analysts note that Jetstar is the first airline to implement charges specifically for overhead locker use. The carrier will charge passengers for stowing carry-on bags in the overhead compartments, beginning in February 2027. An industry analyst said, however, that Jetstar was the first to charge for use of the overhead lockers.
