The West Sumatra Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded Padang City as the worst-affected area after heavy rains inundated several areas since Monday morning (August 3, 2026).At least 15 locations in Padang City were reported to be flooded, while standing water and fallen trees also occurred in several other areas, such as Agam Regency and Pariaman City.The Secretary of the West Sumatra BPBD, Ilham Wahab, stated that the heavy rain that occurred from morning to afternoon was the main trigger for this hydrometeorological disaster.
