Improving shops and shopfronts topped the list of priorities in a community survey carried out by Cullompton Town Council, with residents also calling for better parking, more walking routes, environmental improvements and enhanced leisure facilities. The survey was distributed across the town, including door-to-door deliveries to newer housing developments, resulting in responses from a broad cross-section of residents. Dan said the survey had successfully engaged residents from across Cullompton but acknowledged there was still work to do to hear from younger people. The survey found residents value Cullompton's community spirit, friendly people, surrounding countryside and open spaces, along with its convenient location, peaceful atmosphere and historic character. Residents also expressed support for projects including walking trails, nature paths, community gardens, environmental initiatives, additional seating, events and festivals, and improvements to parking.
