Children at Mawnan C of E VA Primary School took part in their first-ever Ecology Day, stepping outside the classroom to learn about conservation and the natural world. Jilly Pridmore, headteacher, said: "Ecology Day was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn beyond the classroom and experience the incredible wildlife on their doorstep. They also met conservation professionals from organisations including Rewilding Britain, Cornwall National Landscape, Natural England, Cornwall Butterfly Conservation, and Buglife. Workshops were funded by Mawnan Parish Council and Cornwall Council’s Community Chest Fund to ensure every pupil could take part. Ms Pridmore said the resources and experiences from Ecology Day will be used "to create more opportunities for outdoor learning in the future."
