American Football is giving one of its new album’s emotional centerpieces a cinematic companion. The pioneering Midwest indie outfit has unveiled the video for “Wake Her Up,” the Wisp-assisted standout from this spring’s Polyvinyl release LP4. “We didn’t have anyone in mind to sing it, and then we heard a Wisp song and were collectively like, ‘she’s gotta sing that line!'” “I’ve loved American Football ever since I stole their first record from my college radio station 25 years ago,” he said. The video arrives as American Football launches the Midwest leg of its 2026 world tour Friday (Aug. 7) in Cleveland following sold-out runs across North America, Europe and Asia.
