Yankees' Brian Cashman made the deadline excuse all New York fans were expecting originally appeared on The Sporting News. What a boring and disappointing trade deadline it was for the New York Yankees, not accomplishing anything that they needed to on either side of the baseball. It likely didn't help the Yankees that prices were a bit high and not all players got traded, but there's really no excuse for New York to do what it did. Recently speaking to reporters about it, I think it's only fair to suggest that Brian Cashman's comments are a bit ridiculous. That's been a problem for the Yankees over the past few years, and something that evidently has to change in the near future.
