Rewa: Interns at Shyam Shah Medical College (SSM), Rewa, continued their protest on Tuesday, pressing for a uniform stipend policy for MBBS interns across all government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. The protesting doctors said that the Rs 14,000 monthly stipend paid at SSM Medical College is not enough to meet basic expenses such as food, accommodation and transportation. Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that MBBS interns from government medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh recently started an indefinite strike in July, 2026, demanding an increase in their monthly internship stipend from Rs 14,337 to Rs 30,000.
