Officers spotted the car on Highfield last Friday after the driver reportedly sped away from a junction. Police have said the driver briefly drove on the wrong side of the road to make a corner, then mounted the pavement to drive around the police car. The vehicle failed to stop, and officers set off in pursuit, the force said. What police saidOn social media, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Thankfully the pursuit was short-lived, with the driver attempting to abandon the vehicle whilst it was still moving. Officers helped the driver out through the passenger door, before arresting him on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, as well as driving without a licence or insurance.
