The supermarket has been named the UK’s cheapest for July, marking nine consecutive months at the top, according to analysis by consumer group Which?. Aldi shoppers are saving up to £68.90 compared to those shopping at Waitrose, enough to help fund a day out at Alton Towers Waterpark. Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: "We are delighted to be crowned the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the ninth month in a row, a run dating back to November 2025. Aldi was found to be £68.90 cheaper than Waitrose for a basket of 93 grocery items, £30.40 less than Tesco, and £29.81 cheaper than Sainsbury’s. The suggested Alton Towers waterpark savings are based on the price of three tickets.
