A consultation is under way for the West Yorkshire scheme. It focuses on the early-stage Spatial Development Framework (SDF), a key document for steering the delivery of the region-wide Mass Transit programme. Tracy Brabin, mayor of West Yorkshire, said: "It is so important we get these steps right, as it will demonstrate that all West Yorkshire councils are working together to deliver Mass Transit. "Mass Transit is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a better-connected public transport network for West Yorkshire, so we need to ensure everyone is on that journey with us." The SDF proposes focusing new development around mass transit stops and hubs to maximise the economic, social, and environmental benefits of improved connectivity.
