New research by CV-Library reveals a range of flexible careers offering salaries of up to £55,000 a year as families balance childcare with the need to earn during the summer holidays. Online tutoring topped the list, offering an average annual salary of £55,148 and more than 55,000 UK vacancies in the past year. The role is especially attractive to parents because it allows them to deliver lessons remotely at times that fit around family routines. In second place was the role of virtual assistant, with an average salary of £45,132 and more than 178,000 job postings. The research analysed UK job market data between May 2025 and June 2026 and ranked positions by average advertised salary.
