Ms McDowell is supporting Lymphoma Action, the UK's leading charity dedicated to lymphoma, in memory of her partner Niall, who died in 2024 after being diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2022. She said: "When Niall received his lymphoma diagnosis, we wanted to find out as much as we could about it. "Through their Facebook Support Group, we were able to connect with others affected by lymphoma, which was incredibly helpful. "Lymphoma Action plays an invaluable role in supporting people who have received a lymphoma diagnosis, as well as their loved ones." The Channel swim is expected to take place at the end of July, with the exact date dependent on weather and tides.
