GRAND FORKS — While the Grand Forks recycling program has grown significantly over the past 15 years, city Public Works Director Sharon Lipsh says many residents are still unsure of proper recycling procedures. ADVERTISEMENTLipsh said all recyclable items should be rinsed and dried before being placed loose in a recycling bin. The city provides up to two free 16-gallon recycling totes per household, although residents may also use personal containers under 36 gallons. Because Grand Forks uses a single-stream recycling system, materials do not need to be sorted. For more information, contact the Public Works Sanitation Department at (701) 738-8740.
