GRAND FORKS — In the days following the death of Grand Forks Royals head baseball coach Nick Chine, organizations and community members have expressed messages of condolences to the family of the long-time American Legion coach. In addition to more than three decades of Legion baseball, Chine was also a veteran coach at Grand Forks Red River. "Coach Chine was a staple on the baseball field and in the classroom for more than 30 years. "Coach Chine's impact on North Dakota American Legion Baseball and the Grand Forks sports community will be remembered for years to come," the message said. "His dedication to the game, his players, and the baseball community left a lasting legacy that reached far beyond the field."
