Threat of up to 3,275 homes around major south Essex junction like 'Russian roulette'

Up to 3,275 properties may be developed around Sadlers Farm roundabout, a major junction connecting the A13, the A130 leading up to Fairglen Interchange with the A127, Canvey, and Benfleet.
Dame Rebecca Harris, Conservative MP for Castle Point, said Government housing targets for both councils, 28,000 homes for Basildon and 11,662 for Castle Point, were "strangling" the area.
"In Castle Point if we have to have houses we should have them at the Blinking Owl site and the council need to work to make that site deliverable.
Polly Gill said: "Building homes with the only access via Sadlers and Canvey Way would be a disaster, if one car breaks down on Canvey Way it stops completely.
"Getting on or off Sadlers Farm at Bowers Gifford is like already like playing Russian roulette."
