Castle Point Council said it has "consistently" highlighted the need for a third route and has vowed to continue applying pressure for Government funding to secure the project. Dave Blackwell, Canvey Island Independent Party leader of Castle Point Council, said: "We recognise that improving access to and from Canvey is a major concern for residents. "The council has consistently highlighted the need for a third access route to Canvey Island to help address congestion, improve network resilience and support future economic opportunities."
