The proposal for land east of Southend Road, at Foots Farm in Billericay, was initially for 1,100 homes, but was reduced to 950 after feedback and has been cut further in response to consultation. The scheme, submitted to Basildon Council by Obsidian, includes eight Gypsy and Traveller pitches and land set aside for a 72-place nursery and a three-form entry primary school.
