The victim, who is in his 40s, was reportedly approached by a group of men inside The Elms pub on London Road before being followed to his car and attacked. A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A man has been arrested as part of our investigation into a serious assault in Southend. "It was reported that a man sustained a wound to his leg following a disturbance outside The Elms pub in London Road at 11pm on Sunday 10 May. "A man was arrested on July 19 and questioned on suspicion of GBH and possession of a knife or bladed article. The arrest comes after residents and businesses in the surrounding area expressed shock and police launched an appeal for more information.
