According to police, the operation followed information that the suspect was allegedly in possession of illegal firearms and was renting them out to individuals linked to stock theft-related crimes. During a search of the suspect’s premises, officers recovered three rifles including a .303 rifle, a Mosin-Nagant rifle, and an SKS 7.62 rifle as well as four pistols. He is expected to appear before the Msinga Magistrate’s Court on charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. Police said all the recovered firearms will undergo ballistic testing to establish whether they were used in the commission of other crimes across the country.
