The partial solar eclipse is set to take place on Wednesday, August 12, and will see between 90 and 95 per cent of the sun obscured by the moon, the deepest solar eclipse since 2015. James Wilkes, who is also known as 'AstroJim' on social media, is a passionate Kidderminster-based astronomer who has been stargazing for over 20 years and is among those looking forward to the partial solar eclipse. According to James, the partial solar eclipse is a "once-in-a-lifetime" event, with a similar eclipse not expected until 2066. Ahead of the event, James has encouraged Kidderminster residents to look out for the eclipse and shared some top tips. According to James, the partial solar eclipse in Kidderminster will cover approximately 93 per cent of the sun, with the event set to start at 6.15pm.
