The incident has occurred at Talerddig, between Machynlleth and Caersws, affecting routes between Birmingham International and Aberystwyth/Pwllheli. "We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey," said a spokesperson for Transport for Wales. They continued: "The broken-down train has now been moved off the line and trains are able to run through the area again. "We expect residual delays of up to 80 minutes on services travelling through Machynlleth until 4pm." Further delays are likely, with the spokesperson adding: "Please check back here for more information shortly."
