The incident in Wentnor near Bishop's Castle saw firefighters and paramedics race to the scene at around 11.30pm on Tuesday, August 4. One crew from Bishop's Castle attended, following reports of a carbon monoxide detector being activated. A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed an issue with the battery had caused it to activate. They said: "This incident involved one overheated leisure battery causing the alarm to activate."
