According to those present, the matter came to light when a young girl was seen carrying a copy of Gutka Sahib. The girl was taken to a nearby gurdwara, where it was initially suspected that the Gutka Sahib may have gone missing from there. Upon inspection of the drain, several copies of Gutka Sahib were found lying there, along with copies of Hanuman Chalisa and photographs of Hindu deities.
