Patil Group, which today runs universities, medical colleges, engineering institutions, schools, and hospitals across the country. Apart from his contribution to education, Dr. Patil had a distinguished public life. In recognition of his contribution to education and social service, he was honoured with the Padma Shri. Dr. D. Y. Patil's legacy will continue through the institutions he founded and the generations of students whose lives were shaped by his vision.
