The pub closed in 2020 (Image: NQ)The closure will end the history of one of High Wycombe's long-standing pubs, which occupied a gateway location on one of the town's main routes.
Plans for the site were approved in January 2025, allowing Wellington Pub Company to demolish the building and replace it with a three-storey block containing nine two-bedroom apartments.
In its revised application, Wellington Pub Company said it had "completely reconsidered" the design.
Others argued the site could have thrived if reopened as a pub and restaurant.
However, with work now underway on dismantling the building, the next chapter for the former Pheasant site appears to have begun.
