The section said that a field adjacent to theirs caught fire on Monday, August 3, with the wind blowing in the direction of the yard. A spokesperson for the mounted section said: "Yesterday, we faced the very real possibility of having to evacuate the entire yard after the field adjacent to ours caught fire." Local farmers and residents went to help, bringing their own machinery to spray the fire and soak the paddocks. "Thankfully, thanks to everyone’s quick thinking and teamwork, along with the fantastic response from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, the fire was brought under control before it could spread any further. "To everyone who came to help, whether you brought equipment, offered your time or simply turned up ready to lend a hand, thank you."
