The Citrus Growers' Association of Southern Africa (CGA) has revised its total export estimate for 2026 downward, following the most recent meetings of its various variety focus groups. The CGA said in a statement on Wednesday that the original estimate before the season commenced was 209.4 million 15kg cartons. The export estimate for mandarins has been lowered by 2.7 million 15kg cartons relative to the original estimate, while the Navel orange export estimate has been reduced by 4.6 million 15kg cartons from the original estimate in March. “About 75% of the Navel crop has been packed, with less than 6 million cartons of Late Navels left to pack,” the statement said. The Citrus Growers' Association stated that the grapefruit export estimate has been lowered by 1.7 million 15kg cartons since the original forecast.
