The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has committed R10.7 million towards strengthening law enforcement and security across the metro through the procurement of specialised vehicles for Metro Police, Traffic and Security Services. Executive Mayor Babalwa Lobishe said creating a safer Nelson Mandela Bay requires sustained investment and strong partnerships between all spheres of government. "Creating a safe Nelson Mandela Bay requires investment, partnership and decisive action. The investment comes as Nelson Mandela Bay continues to grapple with high levels of violent crime. Security Services will receive patrol vehicles valued at R3.5 million to improve the protection of municipal infrastructure and assets.
