JGS launches fixed-fee conveyancing model

Eastern Cape law firm Joubert Galpin Searle (JGS) has unveiled a new fixed-fee conveyancing pricing model that it says will make legal costs more transparent for property buyers while encouraging broader discussion about how conveyancing services are priced in South Africa.
Traditionally, conveyancing fees increase according to the value of the property being transferred.
JGS has departed from that approach by introducing a four-tier fixed-fee structure based on property value bands, providing buyers with greater certainty about what they will pay before a transaction begins.
JGS says the new model could result in savings of up to 70% for buyers, depending on the value of the property transaction.
"The traditional transfer tariff means that your transfer fees increase as the value of the property increases.
