At around 9.15pm on Tuesday, August 4, traffic was held on the M5 between J25 (Taunton) and J24 (Bridgwater) due to a crash on the northbound carriageway. Emergency services, including South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Avon and Somerset Police, were called to respond, during which traffic was stopped along the motorway. A double-crewed ambulance and an operations officer were sent to the scene, and three people were rushed to Musgrove Park Hospital, a spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the road reopened at 11pm and that the three hospitalised did not have serious injuries.
