Running from Friday, August 28 to Saturday, October 3, the new production is a prequel to the Barn’s 2023 hit I’m Sorry, Prime Minister, I Can’t Quite Remember, which has since enjoyed a West End run and UK tour. Set over a tense weekend at Chequers, the play finds newly installed Prime Minister Jim Hacker facing a collapsing economy, party infighting, a hostile media – and the ever-scheming Sir Humphrey Appleby. Jay Villiers will play Jim Hacker, with Clive Hayward as Sir Humphrey and William Owen as Bernard Wooley. Performances run Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Tickets are available from the Barn Theatre box office and barntheatre.org.uk.
