A 36-year-old, since identified as Jimmy Ward, died at a traveller site in Calcutt after a shooting at around 8.15am on Sunday, August 2. Police arrested a 35-year-old suspect in connection with the incident on Tuesday afternoon (August 4), officers have confirmed. On Sunday, a 74-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of a firearm. A cordon remains in place at the site and an increased police presence is also in operation at the scene. “A scene and heavy policing presence remain in place at the traveller site in Calcutt while further enquiries are carried out.
